I'd be interested in knowing as well, as it has managed to elude me so far. So, free bump.

This site has a great skill listing...just hit the link "Skill Listing" on the main page. In the meantime, here's the listing for Fireball:

Hmmmm, my E/x and my W/E both have fireball, but I couldn't begin to remember where I got it. I never use it as flare seems more effecient. For what it's worth, my W/E is a little less than half-way through the game so you can get it pretty early, and it's most likely from a quest as I don't buy many skills. But then, my memory sucks so I could have seen it on a merchant and thought "ohhh, preeeetty", bought it, and forgot about it 6 seconds later.
Gee, isn't this post helpful? |

No, but I do use this same handle everywhere I go and I've posted on many other gaming, programming, general PC boards. I've never run accross anyone else using it, but I suppose it's possible. I've seen other names that looked similar like K-ToF, C-Zure, and what not. But if anyone else IS using C-Tzar, they'll never be the original and I have the domain name.

Fireball is as Yak's Bend. That's where I got it. And yes it is useful. You are correct that Flare is more efficient against a single opponent but Fireball is great for groups. Stand back and let your W get swarmed then unload with Fireball and other AoE spells. Also, it is useful against some healing creatures as it does about 3x the damage of Flare in one shot so hopefully you can kill the creature before it has time to heal.

are you talking to the elementlist, or the warmaster there? Its kind of confuseing, sense the skill trainer in yaks' doesn't have (Skills) next to his name..
talk to people, the guy with the flameing sword will offer to teach you skills. that is where you get fireball. its use is much differant than flare.. flare is a single target DD.... Fireball is a target AE.. (fireball is higher dmg, too) |

I also have it for my W/E and he got it at Yak's Bend. I don't know your class, so please don't be insulted, but you are an elementalist, correct? If so then you should be able to get it.
I can't remember the exact conditions either. I just run up to everyone who has a quest, do it, then get the rewards. Some have multiple quests. Perhaps you won't get fireball until you go back after doing a quest for one of ther NPC's there? Quote:
